At Pierini Esthetic we know that being a mom is one of the most beautiful things in a woman’s life but all too often we find that the many changes that take place during pregnancy can cause the new moms self-esteem to diminish greatly.
During those nine magical months, the body goes through many hormonal and physical changes which continue to take place even after giving birth. Not only are moms affected by the gained weight but they are also left with excess skin in the abdominal area due to the drastic size reduction of the belly when the baby leaves the womb and, after lactating, the breast also go through changes in size and shape which could make them end up looking saggy and/or deflated.
For all the moms, out there that have gone through a pregnancy, you should know that you are NOT alone, there are many treatments and even surgical procedures that can help revert all of these changes and give you back that youthful beautiful shape. One of the most common and popular solutions is a combination of surgeries known as the “Mommy Makeover”, which can be done six months after the mother has finish lactating.
This surgery generally consists of a tummy tuck with liposuction combined with a breast surgery. The specifics of procedure vary depending on each patient’s needs; for example, sometimes only a breast augmentation is needed, but in some cases, we may need to perform a breast lift or breast reduction. It all depends on the type of changes each woman went through during pregnancy and after birth, that’s why the procedures for each patient must always be personalized.
If you are expecting or thinking about getting pregnant, keep in mind that it is very important to take care of your body during and after pregnancy. Make sure to constantly apply hydrating creams both on your abdomen and breast to retain elasticity and avoid stretchmarks. Watch your eating habits, during pregnancy and after giving birth so you can stay closer to your normal weight and quickly go back to it after the baby is born. You may also use a garment and a good bra, to help keep everything in its place as much as possible. Just following these few tips can help minimize the consequences of pregnancy and facilitate your “mommy makeover” surgery.
