4 Common Mistakes when Planning to Lose Weight

Losing weight does not have to be a science. If you have been watching your eating habits, have been excercising daily and getting enough sleep, it is just a matter of time before you get in shape…right?

  1. You eat very few calories: a very common mistake is to think that in order to lose weight you must eat only salads and grilled chicken. You may lose weight at first, but a few days later you will see how the scale refuses to show results. Consuming very few calories for a long time, it may make your body used to that but later go into a “panic” effect keeping you from losing weight and getting stuck there. This type of weight plan ussually leads to a ”yo-yo effect” with your body causing you to gain the weight you lost as soon as you are off the diet. This is an indication that you have kept your body from eating some foods for a long time and you start eating them again, your body rejects them. It is better to eat a balanced meal with fresh and natural foods which can bring positive results without compromising your health.
  2. Stopping your diet and quiting good foods: Nobody is perfect and it is possible that sometimes you fall prey to temptation and quit your diet. So then. What is your best option? Although you break your good eating habits, the best thing you can do is to go back to it in your next meal. Keep in mind that changes don’t take place from day to day but require time.
  3. You underestimate the importance of consuming protein. There exist many myths about the effects that protein may have over your body but these foods are essential when it comes to losing weight. Adding protein to all our meals is a must since it will help us keep our body mass while we lose weight. The bigger the body mass , your body will burn more calories naturally during the day while you carry out your activities. Furthermore, Protein will fill you up and make you feel more satisfied during longer periods of time. As a matter of fact, a very effective way to activate your metabolism during the mornings is to eat 15 grams of protein the minute you wake up.
  4. You keep changing plans constantly. We all know someone who follows a plan and just when he starts to see results, he changes his plan to a another diet plan that is in vogue. This is a big mistake because when we frequently change plans, our bodies get confused and react negatively. Besides it keeps you from losing weight and it may have negative affects to your overall health like to your thyrods or liver problems or off balance hormones.
